Meski kegiatan belajarnya sempat terhenti karena laptop saya rusak, namun Tetet tetap bersemangat mempelajari teori computer sambil menunggu laptop saya selesai diperbaiki.
En/Today if someone doesn’t know how to operate a computer set, he surely will be called an old fashioned, outdated and technologically illiterate. And in marketplace, people are demanded to be able to use and operate the computer set because it is a mean to make job much easier and faster.
That afternoon when I was using my portable personal computer and drinking a cup of coffee in my living room, few children came to me. They looked shy when I welcomed them into my home. They are elementary and junior high school students. The school building where they study is situated not far from my home.
“Is there anything I can help?” I began to ask them. Instead of giving me and answer, they just looked at each other. It appeared they would not open their mouth and answer the questioned I was asking. After few moments of silence, a girl aged around 15 took a step forward and began to ask me, “Bang (brother), would you show us how to play it?” she asked, pointing her finger at my portable personal computer on my desk right in front of me. The gild was Deplianti, a ninth grader at SMPN 3 Banyuke Hulu.
Hope was in their faces. It appeared to me that they need me to say yes to their want. I smiled when staring at their curious faces. Soon, they were filled with happiness when I said yes. But because I only had one portable personal computer, then I explained to them I was going to teach one of them and then she/he had to teach other kids. And they agreed and Delpianti got the first chance to learn how to use the computer.
Delpianti or Tetet is the latest of 6 siblings to Mr. Dasut and Mrs. Salia (deceased). Her mother died of serious illness when she was 3. Prior to living with her father and her other sibling, Tetet used to live with her eldest sibling who has a family of her own. Tete, once had to drop out of school for a year because her eldest sibling couldn’t afford to pay her school fee.
In learning how to operate the computer, Tetet is a fast learner. Though her learning activity was stopped once due to my portable personal computer was failed, Tetet was eager to learn the theories, waiting for my portable computer to be repaied.
